How to Overcome Fear

You’ve identified your worst fear. You’ve determined your worst case scenario.

Now what??

Now it’s time to sit with it. You need to own it. I am asking you to envision your worst fear right in front of you. Envision it happening.

“Life is lived in two ways, owning fear or fear owning us.” (excerpt from my book - #morethandone)

When I did this, ‘the envisioning my worst fear coming true’ part, it was a horrible feeling. I hated it. But what came next, transformed that fear into power in a way I did not anticipate.

The thing is, you don’t envision it just to put yourself through torment.

You envision it, to then place yourself in the role of overcoming it!

Before you envision it, it’s a monster at your door. You know it’s there. You sense its presence behind the gigantic steel door you’ve created to block this horrible fear from coming true.

The shadows of fear reveal the ugly you don’t want to see. So you block it. But the knock is loud and clear and intimidating.

However....

When you fully envision it... when you make the choice to change up the story from being overcome and taken out and ruined by your worst fear - to instead inserting yourself, God, and your faith in Him as the champions in your story, FULLY overcoming what has paralyzed you from moving ahead, the power fear once held NOW becomes your own.

STRIP THE POWER FROM fear.

Envision the outcome - which is you overcoming the very thing that feels so ‘monstrously’ huge.

#1. Identify your fears.

#2. Envision them.

#3. Overcome them in your mind.

I’ll be posting steps #4 - #6 next week in my Overcoming Fear Series.

I am passionate about helping YOU move forward past fear and no longer being paralyzed by it.
